According to an official statement by the Ministry of Finance, more than 8.5 million Malaysians will benefit from STR Phase 2, with a total allocation of RM1.7 billion. Who Is Eligible for STR Phase 2?
The STR Phase 2 payout will vary depending on income category:
- Households earning RM2,500 and below: RM150 – RM650
- Households earning RM2,501 – RM5,000: RM100 – RM300
- Senior citizens without spouses: RM150
- Single individuals: RM150
This year, a notable increase is seen in the budget allocated for single individuals, rising from RM300 million in 2024 to RM500 million. This reflects the government’s awareness of the financial pressures faced by young adults and single earners.
When and How Will You Receive STR?
If you have a registered bank account, your STR payment will be credited starting 24 March 2025 (Monday). For those without a bank account – particularly in Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan – payments will be distributed in cash through Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) branches.
Please stay updated with your payment schedule and bring valid identification if you need to collect the cash at BSN.
